The Certificate in Lab Assistant is a one-year vocational program designed to train students in essential laboratory techniques and diagnostic procedures. The course provides both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in clinical biochemistry, microbiology, parasitology, hematology, blood banking, and histopathology.
Students learn to handle laboratory equipment, prepare samples, conduct tests, and maintain safety and hygiene standards in medical laboratories. The program also includes Communicative English and Computer Fundamentals to enhance professional communication and digital skills.
Upon completion, learners are qualified to work as laboratory assistants or technicians in hospitals, diagnostic centers, and research institutions, contributing to accurate medical testing and patient care.
Communicative English & Computer Fundamentals (CECF)
Builds essential communication skills for healthcare settings and introduces basic computer operations, digital literacy, and documentation methods used in laboratories.
Clinical Biochemistry (CB)
Covers biochemical principles, diagnostic tests, and analysis of blood, urine, and other body fluids to detect metabolic and systemic disorders.
Clinical Microbiology & Parasitology (CMP)
Focuses on identification of bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. Students learn culture techniques, staining methods, and diagnostic procedures for infectious diseases.
Haematology, Blood Banking & Histopathology (HBH)
Provides knowledge of blood composition, blood group testing, transfusion practices, and microscopic examination of tissues for disease diagnosis.
Practical – I (P1)
Hands-on training in basic lab techniques, sample collection, and preparation.
Practical – II (P2)
Focused practice in biochemistry experiments, reagent preparation, and diagnostic testing.
